Setting Up Backups and Data Protection

Backup Overview

MyCampaignEDGE provides comprehensive backup capabilities to protect your organization's data with automated scheduling and multiple storage options.

Creating Manual Backups

  1. Navigate to Settings > Data Management > Backups
  2. Click "Create Backup"
  3. Select which modules to include (contacts, donations, events, etc.)
  4. Choose backup format and compression options
  5. Start the backup process

Automated Backup Schedules

Set up automated backups to run regularly:

  • Daily, weekly, or monthly schedules
  • Custom time and frequency settings
  • Automatic cleanup of old backups
  • Email notifications when backups complete

Storage Providers

Configure where your backups are stored:

  • Platform cloud storage (default)
  • Amazon S3
  • Google Cloud Storage
  • Other S3-compatible providers

Backup Contents

Choose what data to include in backups:

  • Contact records and custom fields
  • Donation and transaction history
  • Event registrations and attendance
  • Email campaigns and templates
  • Forms and submissions
  • Organization settings and configurations

Restoring from Backup

  1. Navigate to your backup list
  2. Select the backup you want to restore
  3. Choose whether to restore all data or specific modules
  4. Confirm the restore operation
  5. Wait for the restoration to complete

Backup Monitoring

Monitor your backup status:

  • View backup progress in real-time
  • Check backup completion status
  • Review backup logs for errors
  • Verify backup integrity
  • Get notifications for backup failures
